IDEO 10faces
info model 2006
The week following the earlier IDEO motion model, we were assigned the task of reading Kelley's "The 10 Faces of Innovation" and constructing a motion model, pushing the interactivity further than the previous week. As well, we were required to present 3 processes for future design project concepts. Due to the amount of work for this one course, I again decided to complete the motion model on my own, with some new inspiration - the ViewFinder!
My Role
As mentioned in the brief above, I took this model on as a solo project for the team, who wanted to put their efforts towards the product concept processes. I wanted to reach a certain level of quality with it, and so I read the book, took the concepts of each of the "10 Faces" and organized them following a similar structure. I then constructed the viewfinder graphic that would be the centerpiece of the model, and got to work animating it.
Because this model was more interactive than the earlier one, I let myself focus more on good typography than stylized icons, because the viewer would have as much time as required before advancing to the next slide.
If I were to do it again, I would have added more hints/prompts for the interactive portions. That said, it was created for an in-class presentation and therefore I was the only one interacting with it :)
