wedding invitations 2009

Set with the task of shooting a series of engagement photos and creating photo-centric wedding invitations, I was able to design magazine spread-inspired, bi-fold (tri-panel) cards to match the 'rustic, country wedding' theme (centering around brown, raspberry, and turquoise), as well as a simple, 'country lace' RSVP site.

Each panel was designed to be the size of a regular photo - 4x6", and arranged in such a way as to give the recipients different looks which suggest placing the invitation on desks or other display areas, rather than responding to the RSVP and immediately hiding it away/discarding it.

We went down to Crescent beach for an hour one day to try and capture as much as possible. It was a great location for the variety of backdrops in such close proximity. The colours represented in these photos were samples for the final selection used in the invitations - I decided to preserve their process-colours in order to give an idea of the amount of attention an individual photo receives. My process is by no means 'apply and print', as I like to ensure that each and every photo can stand out on its own, or in a full set.

rsvp site

In addition to the invitations, a simple website was created to let guests RSVP for the event. The site also provided links to gift registries and maps/directions to the ceremony and reception.
