Fallsclinic
Site Design & Development 2010
I was contacted on behalf of the client to design and develop a new website for a local clinic specializing in fall prevention. The existing website was difficult to update, had unclear navigation, and wasn't as user-friendly as the client would have liked. I designed a clean, clear layout and architecture, based on the Wordpress CMS to allow for easy updates by any member of the organization. The website is still in progress and is not yet live.

Online Photography Community 2007-2008
In a 400-level, 2-semester Design Studio course, my team and I created a prototype online community which was centered around sharing photographic techniques and tutorials. This was the final result of a semester of processing, where we defined the project and narrowed the scope down from the original concept of a live, map-based photo sharing network accessed through digital cameras, and a semester of prototyping, where we designed and built the online community itself.

Design Analysis Study 2007
Following methods of Participatory Design, we partnered with a business in downtown Vancouver to solve a design problem they had identified. The problem was an ineffective website. Through conducting our study in phases: Initiation, In-Line Analysis, In-Depth Analysis, and Innovation, we were able to identify the root of the problem, and propose a solution that would meet their needs. In the end, the company was thrilled, and implemented most of our recommendations.
Wii Analysis
Design Method Study 2007
In a team of 4, I conducted an analysis of "Trauma Center: Second Opinion" for the Nintendo Wii console, using IMI questionnaires and Cued Recall Debrief methods of gathering information. We each participated in the study, and contributed to the overall analysis and recommendation process. I filmed the testing, wrote and spoke the narration, and edited the video, while my teammates created the report document and the 3 title screens shown in the video. In the end, it was a great opportunity to learn about different information gathering methods with participant interaction.
Life Blog
personal blog 2004-8
I'd experimented a few times with blogs in the past, but "This is my Life" was intended to be a completely freely written blog for the anonymous Internet-surfer. I would write whatever I felt, which meant supremely intimate thoughts in the beginning, and eventually rounded out to a general archive of life experiences. The main technological significance of the project was in helping me learn CSS, and in the process, become aware of cross-browser style issues...
